Alternative genre blending artist Michael Ekow is sonically paving his way between Indie, Pop, Hip Hop, R&B and House, moving alongside the spaces of music, culture and art. Of Ghanaian descent Michael Ekow has spent his life moving around, England, Germany and the Netherlands. A wordsmith zealous to capture feeling in records and poetic expressions that vividly paint moments . Michael Ekow has been inspired by the likes of Rod Stewart, Florence and the Machine, Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean.

Michael Ekow has been steadily releasing music since 2020, writing and producing his own tracks with a variety of producers. He’s significant style, unique voice, songwriting approach and live performances didn’t go unnoticed. He received a gracious welcome in the underground club scenes of Amsterdam, Berlin and London. He also became a go to songwriter and vocalist for dj’s & producers like Oliver Heldens and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Michael kicked off 2024 with a live showcase at Boring Festival and the release of the ‘Keep Me From You’ EP, a club ready collaboration with producer Benno. Simultaneously he kicked oT a monthly ‘Talk To Me Nice’ residency at Kanaal40. Besides performing live, he also invited other musicians and visual artists to showcase their talent. The name of the monthly event draw inspiration from his upcoming EP with producer May.

His collaboration with producer & guitarist May brought “You Don’t Know What’s Going On, Talk To Me Nice!” EP into fruition. The 9 track EP will be released on the 26th of June and is blending English punk inspired vocals, hip hops’ poetic storytelling and RnB/pop fused melodies. May establishes the world in which these tales live, providing an encapsulating ambience. This blend of genres translates into an energetic, funky – yet still – emotional live show.
